Jennifer Chappell

Our Trainers and Instructors

Whispering Hills Stables started as a family owned horse training business in the early 60's. at the base of the National Monument in Grand Junction. The Weber family trained and successfully showed morgans, saddlebreds and arabians.

Jennifer was raised on horses at Whispering Hills.  She showed, rode and learned basic training in her youth. She started training professionally when she was 13 years old.

Jennifer's training is infused with many disciplines and experiences, including training reining horses, gaited horses, breezing race horses, driving, saddleseat and dressage. Each of these experiences are melded with a synonymous use of classical and competitive dressage to inspire each horse and rider to enjoy dressage as much as possible.

Jennifer started showing dressage 16 years ago and has 21 shows with 5 horses. She is currently training and showing FEI Grand Prix on 14 year old MidKnight Attraction a warmblood gelding that she bred, raised and trained She is now competing on Ricoh at Grand Prix in 2018. She now has with an average score of all levels at 64% to  get half way through her Gold Medal. Jennifer also earned her silver Musical Freestyle bar in 2016.  Jennifer will continue her education in 2019 with rides from FEI Trainers and Riders in the spring in Texas.  Also in 2019 she will help her riders achieve new goals in and out of the arena. 

Jennifer has many happy clients that are showing and training their horses under her tutelage.  Jennifer also volunteers for the local pony club. and 4H groups inspiring youth to explore their full potential.

Along with her accomplishments in dressage, Jennifer received a Professional Trainers Clinic Plaque from John Lyons in 2008, she has her BA in Education, her masters in Technology and holds a Career and Technical Education Certification. Her 24 years as an exemplary rated educator add to her ease of communication with her riding students and horses.

  Besides being a trainer and educator, she has been a professional news photographer for the Associated press, local news and teaches photography and broadcasting classes.  

She has taught over 11,500 students in her teaching career and started and trained over 300 horses in her training career. She has given many years of lessons to all age groups.
